Vintage Adult Films Star Juliet "Aunt Peg" Anderson Dies at 71

Vintage adult films star Juliet "Aunt Peg" Anderson died on January 10, 2010 in her Berkeley home of a heart attack at the age of 71. Juliet is widely regarded as someone who entered adult film for the artsy, sensual aspect instead of the money.
Anderson began doing adult films in 1978 at the age of 39, which was unheard of at the time. Her goal was to transform something usually regarded as tawdry into something acceptable and sensual for an older generation.
"To my knowledge, Juliet was the oldest woman to ever enter the adult film industry - she was the original 'cougar,' an older woman who pursues sex with younger men," explains Carol Queen, the executive director of San Francisco's the Center for Sex and Culture. "But what she did was much more than porn."
Queen went on to say that "Aunt Peg" was essentially a sexual health advocate who showed that it was healthy and normal for middle-aged people to be sensual and sexually active. Ms. Anderson also worked as a relationship counselor while she starred in adult films.
